Betty Crossland, Senior Sales Representative, leads NIS’s (National Insurance Services’) Health Insurance Initiative for Indiana municipalities. Betty is driven in her role within public sector employee benefits. Her mission is to empower her customers to dream bigger and to help them realize their goals with innovative ideas and out-of-the-box solutions.

Betty joined NIS in 1995 after 11 years of experience in the insurance industry. Her experience spans the full range of employee benefits – pensions, 403(b), Health, Disability, Dental,Vision and Life insurance. She will be your advocate by anticipating your needs, removing barriers, managing risk and providing you with direction with the new trends in employee benefits.

Carol Johnson - Sales Representative, Retirement Income

Carol Johnson’s honesty, ethics and integrity take center stage in her life, passing up personal gain if it doesn’t make sound financial sense for her client. Raised by a father in the military, Carol learned first hand what it means to go the extra mile, respect others and take pride in her work. Years of witnessing fellow agent’s unethical tactics have only served to cement her values and fuel her passion for building authentic, trusting relationships and dedicating herself to client advocacy.

Carol brings 25 years of solid experience to her new role with NIS (National Insurance Services) including six years of school district expertise servicing VEBA, HRA, 401(a) and 403(b) plans with the ISTA (Indiana State Teachers Association), where she regularly held educational workshops for school districts. Carol understands the way school districts and other governmental organizations operate, manage risk and create budgets, which allows her to develop reliable solutions that help organizations bridge the gap between administration, board and bargaining unit.

Carol is a licensed insurance agent and Registered Securities Representative with Series 6 and 63 licenses.

Kyla Cook - Field Service Representative

Kyla Cook believes that old-fashioned customer service practices are still vital in today’s marketplace. “With technology and quality of life advancing so quickly, much of the human aspect is being erased,” says Kyla. “It is refreshing to be part of an organization that still values the human approach.”

Kyla brought public relations and customer service skills with her when National Insurance Services hired her in 2009 as a Field Service Representative for the Indiana region. She specializes in Life and Disability Insurance for public schools, cities and counties in Indiana and is responsible for in-person visits, answering questions and addressing any administrative issues.

Lisa Clark - Field Service Representative

Lisa Clark makes her customer’s concerns her priority, which is why she achieved a perfect 100% customer satisfaction rating over the past 10 years. Raised by two educators, Lisa is excited to bring her expertise to public sector organizations because she understands first hand, the value of education and public sector benefits.

Lisa joined NIS (National Insurance Services) in 2009 with 19 1/2 years of experience in the insurance industry. She provides field support through in-person client visits where she answers questions and addresses any administrative issues. Lisa specializes in Life and Disability Insurance for school districts, cities and counties in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio.

Megin Knight - Inside Service Representative

Megin Knight doesn’t stop at ordinary customer service. Since Megin has worked with customers from the age of 15, she has learned to go above and beyond to provide her clients with extraordinary care. She enjoys each day searching for learning opportunities, working hard and building strong relationships.

Megin joined NIS (National Insurance Services) in 2009 after six years in the insurance industry. She provides the backbone of support for NIS’ Indiana region as the Inside Customer Service Representative specializing in Life and Disability Insurance for school districts, cities and counties.

Lance Pfarrer, licensed insurance agent and Field Service Representative, really “gets it” when it comes to understanding what public sector groups need. Lance joined National Insurance Services in 2001 as a Corporate Service Representative after 4 years in the insurance industry. His loyalty and ability to form positive relationships with his clients earned him a position as a Field Service Representative for the Wisconsin Region in 2008. Lance specializes in Life and Disability Insurance for school districts, cities and counties in Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana.
